María Lucena (Community Manager)

Welcome, I am Maria Lucena, Community Manager of Digital Us. My role in the project is to write up everything that will be posted on social networks as well as showing my support and help to the rest of the group participants.

My position is closely linked to the Social Manager, but my role is more theoretical. I am happy with my function, although I am aware that a lot of communication will be necessary between all the members of the group, especially between Irene (Social Manager) and myself, because the operation of the project will depend on a large part of us. If we do not manage communication well and we are not constant in the publications at work the group will be harmed, It also scares me not finding good angles for the posts. On the other hand, I am calm because we are a hard-working group and I am convinced that we will be able to solve the problems that arise.

I think I will be a good at my rol because I handle social networks well, I also manage an Instagram account in which I upload recent news of general interest, my previous knowledge will be useful for this new project.

Work method and personal expectations

So far my experience with the project has been good. At the moment the work has been done in a common way, we have helped each other. Starting this week, once the functions of each component of the group are clear, we will focus specifically on our role but we will also be willing to help our colleagues.

We still have to decide some nuances of the project. We are going to organize several meetings throughout the semester to be able to discuss and give feedback on the work of the other colleagues to be able to share ideas and questions in order to improve together.

I am excited about the project because we will have the opportunity to learn online journalism in a practical way and I think we will be able to learn a lot. I am also very happy because my group is wonderful and I am convinced we will do a good job. We are all waiting to see the final result that we will build throughout this four-month period.
