Hi, I’m Elena Basanta, video editor of Digital Us. I’ve chosen this role because I love making videos and working with images. I think that by editing a video you can transmit the information in a more commplete way to the receiver, making it more interesting through the program that I use, in this case, Imovie. I haven’t been able to play my part yet because we haven’t reached that level, but I’m very excited, as it’s something I’m passionate about.
In my opinion, my role is decisive for differentiating good content and excellent content. My activity consists of basic things like trimming, splitting, melting, rotating, adjusting… that make sense and shape what we want to convey. It is true that my role has a great responsi bility, since I am the one who make all the information clear and direct and also attractive to the public. Perhaps that is the hardest thing, it is a work that must be done in time, to be able to check for errors and that we do not find last minute failures that endanger all the effort of the other roles. Being such a complicated task, it is normal that sometimes we need more help so those roles that do not have as much work will be at my disposal. Even if everyone has their work distributed, it is important that we help each other to have a good result.
My expectations of the project
My experience as a video editor is short, but I have used several video editing programs because I find it interesting and entertaining. In addition, I am very excited to carry out this teamwork because they can contribute many more ideas to expose in the video. I think in the end it’s a fun job, which, if done right and appreciating every detail, everyone can like it. We haven’t decided which program to use yet, but we’ve thought about Imovie, openshot or filmmaker. In short, I think I will develop my role very well and with the help of my colleagues we will get the public to understand our view of this whole project.
